In this year’s Michigan State Police vehicle evaluations, the 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit V8 topped the list. The Charger emerged with the fastest lap time ever recorded in the Michigan State Police test’s history, at 1:33.7.The Chevrolet Caprice PPV has the best top speed and braking, but the Charger goes a step ahead. The only negative point against the Charger is that it needs a V8 to achieve it’s numbers, while both the Chevrolet Caprice and Ford Interceptor use V6s which take in less fuel. No word yet as to whether insurance for Dodge Charger is cheaper than for the Chevy or Ford, as police departments need insurance too (we imagine).
